i heart keenwah, all natural Quinoa cluster snack, review & giveaway

by EJ on 01/10/13

Today, the monsters and I discovered something delicious. Like... scraping the bottom of the bag for crumbs delicious. This most glorious snack is called i heart keenwah and I want to know where it's been all my life. Seriously, they didn't send me enough. We ate it in minutes and the monsters are still asking for more despite the fact I've shown them the empty bag a dozen times!

We received a sample bag of the all natural and gluten free i heart keenwah in the cranberry cashew flavor. The simple list of ingredients include: Organic Quinoa (Whole Grain Quinoa, Quinoa Flakes, Quinoa Crisps), Cashews, Tapioca Syrup, Raw Sugar, Dried Cranberries, Honey, Almond Oil, Baking Soda and Salt. Allergens include Tree Nuts.

Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wah) is known by the Andean people of South America as the "mother of all grains" and according to experts, it's the only whole grain that's a complete source of protein containing all nine essential amino acids meaning it's the same kind of protein found in meat and dairy. Quinoa touts a protein content between 14 and 18 percent, is packed with vitamins and minerals and fiber.

The Incas believed that Quinoa seeds were sacred. It grows in the mountains of Peru and Bolivia and while once considered a lowly food by the Spanish conquistadors, it's now in super high demand here in the US. The United Nations declared 2013 the International Year of Quinoa. North American farmers are attempting to grow quinoa here to allow prices to fall on quinoa exported out of South America.
i heart keenwah comes in cute little squares, perfect for tossing right in your mouth. Flavors include cranberry cashew, almond, chocolate sea salt and ginger peanut. ML said they were beautiful... and then she ran away with the bag and ate the rest before we could get anymore.

One lucky Four Little Mosters reader can win a bag of i heart keenwah and share in the quinoa joy. Please enter using the rafflecopter widget below and good luck!
