KM
participates in a community pageant once a year in the spring, where
she gets to dress up, perform a talent and pretend to be a princess for a
day. While searching online for pageant wear this year, I discovered Elite Dresses, specializing in age appropriate
dresses and gowns for girls. They offer everything from girls
christening gowns and girls pageant gowns to girls flower girl dresses
and girls first communion gowns. Best of all, it's owned by a Mom who
understands what many Moms are looking for in a girl's dress as far as
style and price. There's nothing flashy or inappropriate about any dress
on the website and each dress offered is personally chosen by the
owner. There are many styles, lengths and colors to chose from. She
operates within the general rule that if she wouldn't want her own
daughter to wear it, she wouldn't sell it to someone.
Elite Dresses sent us the dress that KM chose for the formal portion of the pageant. The dress, called the Girls' White Ballerina Dress
arrived exactly as shown. The website offered several detailed views of
the dress. Upon inspection, we were immediately impressed with the long
length of the dress and the cross cut french mesh skirt that did give
KM a "ballerina" look over a lining that still provided a full and
elegant look. Faux diamond stones dotted the skirt from top to bottom
beneath a fabric flower waist and solid sleeveless top.The back of the dress zipped from the waist smoothly and secure. The dress included an attached mesh sash that we tied to form a loose bow that fell down along the back of the dress. KM wore small heels to help lift the long skirt from dragging on the floor and we accessorized with a diamond headband.
The pageant venue, held in a fire hall, offered many great opportunities for KM's Elite Dresses gown to stand out. I particularly loved the contrast between the fire trucks, equipment and KM's white dress and dolled up hair.
KM gave a knock out dance performance of Madonna's "Holiday" (in a different outfit of course) and wowed us all in her gorgeous Elite Dresses gown. I realized by the time she stood on stage with the other girls, however, that I'd sent her into a sea of white gowns - wearing a white gown. I noticed immediately that the girls that won in each category were not wearing white at all - they were wearing bold blues or greens, and purple in one case. Kind of annoying considering KM's talent was so awesome but what can you do? So as much as we loved this dress for every other reason, I wish we'd chosen a more standout color. (This same dress does come in black). This dress in white would be an amazing flower girl or first communion dress!
Although we did get to enjoy this dress at no charge for the purpose of this review, I must say that the gowns and dresses offered by Elite Dresses are for sale at really low prices. In some cases that would mean less or low quality but based on our experience with this Elite Dresses gown, quality is not sacrificed for price. There's just a Mom behind it all who knows that other Moms deserve and want value and quality. We were very impressed with the gown we received and will definitely go back for future pageant wear and formal attire for the girls.
There's also a bunch of free stuff on the Elite Dresses website like wedding, first communion and pageant themed coloring pages and flower girl tips. Elite Dresses offers a 110% low price guarantee, low cost two to four day US shipping and easy returns with 100% money back guarantee so that your online shopping experience is as hassle free and comfortable as possible. When you order from Elite Dresses, the owner encourages customers to send in their photos of their girls wearing the dresses and she has compiled a great photo gallery of all the photos she's received so far. Past and current customers can also enter a contest to win $100 by sending in photos and submitting reviews. The website offers live support and the option to sign up for the Elite Dresses newsletter.
